Backcountry Pizza’s reputation as a cozy, funky must-stop place for damned fine pizza was built on a dream, when Riel (a.k.a. the Pizza Boss) bought a little business that needed some love.

Long-time F&B guy, Riel, and his friend, pizza aficionado Leigh, re-opened the restaurant with its old name, a new menu, and the freshest, best ingredients they could find in November 2017.

The Backcountry Pizza family includes Riel’s dedicated staff, along with his partner, kids, stepson and mom all living in Pemberton.
